6.0 Managing Task Templates

Published:
Updated:

Task templates contain a list of task forms, “task details” for prefilled meta data, limits to how many times a form can be filled out, task states and possibly facilities for setting due dates and availability in the Zegeba app. A template may typically concern an Inspection or Service or a work site or a vessel.

In the powerful Task Template editor available in the Dashboard, Admins and Task Admins can design their own templates. This editor is described in this chapter.

What is the difference between a task and a task template?

Task templates contain settings for form names, “task details” for prefilled data, limits and task states. A template is an “umbrella structure” for tasks and may typically be called “Annual Inspection” or “Service” or the name of a site or a vessel. Usually a task template is a long-term work structure, a task is a smaller job in this structure with a relatively short time-span. A company may typically have 3-10 task templates but each of these templates may have hundreds of tasks created in them, giving a specified job to a certain number of workers. For instance a task in the template “Annual Inspection” may concern an annual inspection of a specific equipment on a work site within a specified week.
