FAQ: Can I Use Emojis and Other Design Characters in Forms?
Published:
Updated:
Yes and no. Here’s what you need to know:
In PDFs:
- Emojis will not be printed on PDFs.
- On PDFs, only characters from the Roboto font (available here) and some basic UNICODE characters (like ™, ©, and ❶) are supported.
- Test printing is recommended to check which characters work for your needs.
In the Form Designer and Apps:
- You can paste emojis into element labels or page icons within the form designer.
- Test the emojis in the apps on relevant mobile devices, as they may not display correctly on all systems.
- Users filling out the form can use emojis in text input fields, and these will generally show on-screen, but will not appear on the PDF.
