2.3 The edit menu

This menu contains the usual functions for copying, inserting and deleting elements, plus a few special ones created for the Zegeba Designer. The Edit menu is also shown when you right-click on an area or element.
Copy, Cut and Paste
- Select the part/element you wish to copy or cut – see tips on how to select here: Designing: 3.3 Add, move, copy, delete and fold elements.
- Select Copy (ctrl+c) to copy it to the system Clipboard
– or –
Select Cut (ctrl+x) to remove it from its present position while copying it to the Clipboard. - Find the area of the form where you wish to place the part/element, and select Paste (ctrl+v) to place it there.
Delete
Use Delete (ctrl+shift+d) instead of Cut if you wish to delete a part/element completely without copying it to the Clipboard.
- Select the part/element you wish to delete – see tips for selection here: Designing: 3.3 Add, move, copy, delete and fold elements.
- Select Delete to delete it completely.
Paste, Delete and Add sub-elements
A sub-element is an element placed inside/under another element or part. A form has pages as sub-elements, and these have the various elements as sub-elements. For instance, the sub-elements of a grid are its rows. The sub-elements of a row are its cells. When pasting or deleting sub-elements, you must select the “parent” element first. - Select the part/element you wish to copy to, delete or add to – see tips for selection here: Designing: 3.3 Add, move, copy, delete and fold elements.
- Select Paste (ctrl+shift+z) to place a copied element in the sub-elements of the selected element
– or –
Select Delete (ctrl+shift+b) to delete all sub-elements in the selected element
– or –
Select Add (ctrl+shift+a) to add a new sub-element to the selected element.
