Updated:

This guide explains how to import a context with activities in Zegeba v4.12 and later using the updated Context Import flow. Each row in your Excel file becomes one activity, and all rows together create one context.

Prerequisites

  • Access to Admin
  • An existing Context Type
  • An existing Activity Template
  • Excel or CSV file with one row per activity

Start the import

  1. Go to Templates → Context types.
  2. Find the Context Type you want to import to.
  3. Open the ⋮ (three-dot) menu or right-click the row.
  4. Select Import context.

This opens the Context Import modal with step tabs at the top.

Upload

  1. Upload a CSV or XLSX file, or paste Excel data directly.
  2. (Optional) Click Download Excel Template to get a starter file based on the selected context type.
  3. Click Next.

Preview

  2. Confirm columns and values look correct.
  3. Click Next.

Sheet selection is visible but not available for now, ti will import each sheet as separate contexts.

Context setup

  1. Select the Context Type (preselected).
  2. Enter a New Context Name.
  3. Review Context Meta Data mapping:
    • Fields are auto-mapped when the Excel column header matches the Context Meta Data display name.
    • You can manually map fields if needed.

Context meta data must have the same value in all rows, because one context is shared across all activities.

FAQs

Q1. How many contexts are created per import?
One context is created per import. Each Excel row becomes one activity within that context.

Q2. Why can’t some fields be mapped as context meta data?
Context meta data must have the same value across all rows. If values differ, the field must be mapped as activity data instead.

Q3. Does Zegeba auto-map fields?
Yes. Fields are auto-mapped when Excel column headers match the display names of context or activity meta data fields.

Q4. Can I reuse the Excel template?
Yes. The downloaded Excel template can be reused for future imports of the same context type.

Q5. Where do I see the imported data?
After confirmation, open the created context or go to the activity view to manage the imported activities.
