Edit User
Use the Users area to update a user’s details, roles, access, and password. You can also generate a time-limited password reset link.
Steps
Open Users
- Use the left navigation and choose Users.

Open Edit
- In the table, either click the row action menu (⋮) and choose Edit, or right-click the user and select Edit.
Details tab
- Toggle User Status between Active and Deactivated.
- Edit First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone, and any custom fields.
- Add or update Notes.
- Username cannot be edited.
Roles tab
- Assign the roles the user needs (e.g., Admin, Data Collector, Tasks User, etc.).
- You can add or remove roles at any time.
Access tab (if applicable)
- Adjust the user’s access settings according to your organization’s policy.
Password tab — set a new password
- Enter New password and Confirm new password.
- As you type, the interface confirms when each requirement is met (length, uppercase, lowercase, number, special character).
Password tab — generate a password reset link (alternative)
- Check Generate Password Link.
- Choose Link Expires After and Redirect After Login.
- Click Generate Link. A dialog shows the reset URL and validity period.
- Click Copy Text, then send the link to the user via your secure channel.
Save changes
- Click Save to apply all updates.

FAQs
How do I find a user to edit?
Use the search field on the Users page to filter by name, email, role, or status. Right-click the row or use the row action menu and choose Edit.
Can I change a username?
No. Username cannot be edited. Use the other identity fields (name, email, phone) instead.
What roles do I need to edit other users?
An admin-level permission such as Admin or Access Manager is typically required.
What are the password requirements?
At minimum: 8+ characters, at least one uppercase, one lowercase, one number, and one special character. The UI shows which criteria are satisfied as you type.
How long is a reset link valid?
You choose the expiry when generating it (e.g., 7 days). The dialog displays the exact expiration.
Where does the user land after using the reset link?
Use Redirect After Login to control the landing page (e.g., Dashboard).
