Resources

Published:
Updated:

Resources is where you store and manage all files used by form templates, including images, documents, and Dynamic Lists (JSON and TXT). You can organize folders, upload or create files, preview details, and see which forms a file is linked to.

Key areas

  • Left folder menu: Browse and organize folders; includes search. The New Folder button at the bottom of the sidebar creates folders.
  • System folders: Avatars (user profile pictures) and Public (assets for public forms).
  • Table: Shows files in the selected folder (or all files when All files is selected).
  • Upload area: Drag & drop or click to upload at the top of the table. When in a folder
  • New File: Create a Text file (.txt) or JSON file (.json) from the top-right New File button. When in a folder

Steps

Open Resources

From the main navigation, select Resources. The left sidebar shows your folder tree and the table lists items in the current folder.

Create or organize folders

Click New Folder at the bottom of the sidebar, enter a name, and create it. Use Cut/Paste to move files between folders when needed.

Upload files

In the table view, use the top upload area to Click to upload or drag files directly. Only available when in a folder.

Create new files (Text / JSON)

Click New File → choose Text File (.txt) or JSON File (.json). Name the file; the editor opens.

Edit text & JSON files

In the editor, add or update content and click Save. For Dynamic Lists, paste or author valid JSON and save. Reference the JSON file from your form template where the component expects a resource link.

Search

Use the Search field above the table to filter by file name across the current view.

Row actions (••• or right-click)

Each file row has a context menu. Actions and meanings:

  • Share: Get a link to the file to add to a form template.
  • Download: Download the file.
  • Open: Open the preview in the right-hand details drawer.
  • Edit: Edit the file (currently supported for .txt and .json files).
  • Rename: Change the file name.
  • Duplicate: Create a copy in the same folder.
  • Copy: Copy the file to the clipboard (for later Paste).
  • Paste (folders only): If your clipboard contains copied files, paste them into the selected folder.
  • Cut: Stage the file for moving; then go to the destination folder and Paste.
  • Delete: Remove the file. Caution: If a file is used in forms, links will break. If removed accidentally, contact support@zegeba.com.

Preview files & find usage

Single-click a row to open the preview drawer on the right. Tabs:

  • Preview: Quick view and a button to open full screen.
  • Details: File metadata (type, size, folder, upload info).
  • Linked: Forms/entries where the file is used; you can open the form template from here. This helps track usage and avoid breaking links.

FAQs

1) What are the default system folders?

  • Avatars for user profile images, and Public for assets referenced by public forms.

2) How do I move a file to another folder?

  • Use Cut on the file, navigate to the target folder, then Paste. To copy instead, use Copy then Paste (Paste appears on folders when the clipboard holds items).

  • The Edit action is currently available for .txt and .json files. Other file types can be previewed, downloaded, duplicated, moved.

4) What happens if I delete a file that’s in use?

  • Single-click the row to open the drawer and switch to Linked. You can open the related form template from this view to review or update references.
