Open Web App from Dashboard

Use the App menu item (phone icon) in the dashboard side menu to open the Zegeba Web App in your default browser. This is a quick way to run Zegeba App without the native iOS/Android apps. The Web App offers the same core features as the native apps but may be constrained by browser memory and limited access to device-native features (e.g., camera, large offline storage).

Steps

  1. Open the dashboard. From anywhere in Zegeba, ensure the side menu is visible.
  2. Locate the App icon. In the side menu, find the phone icon.
  3. Click the Phone icon. Your default browser opens a new tab with the Zegeba Web App.
    • If you’re not signed in there, you may be prompted to log in again.
  4. (Alternate path) Open from a view. When you open an activity from a view, Zegeba may launch that activity directly in the Web App.
  5. Grant permissions if prompted. Allow the browser to access camera/microphone/location if your forms require those features.
  6. Start working. Use the Web App as you would on mobile. Note that heavy media capture or very large datasets may be limited by browser memory.

Does the Web App have the same features as the native apps?
Yes, core features are the same. However, browsers may impose memory limits and reduced access to native hardware (e.g., camera, background sync, deep offline storage).

Where exactly is the App icon?

Will it always open in a new tab?

Can I launch the Web App when opening an activity from a view?

Check the browser permission prompt and allow camera access. Some device-native features may be limited in browsers; if needed, switch to the native mobile app.
Laptop’s and desktops will not have access to camera, they will promp you to select a file.
