Navigating Side Bar

Published:
Updated:

The left side bar is the primary way to navigate inside the Zegeba web Dashboard. It appears as a vertical listing of icons from top to bottom.
Some items may be missing based on your role and on whether the features are enabled for your tenant.

Quick orientation (top → bottom): Logo · Home · Activities · Calendar · Context (if enabled) · Templates · Users · Resources · Open App · Help/Knowledge Base · System Settings · User menu (profile & log out)

How navigation works

  • Hover for labels: Move your mouse over an icon to see its name (tooltip). On smaller screens, the rail may collapse to icons; tooltips still appear.
  • Permissions-aware: Icons only appear if your role has access and the feature is enabled. Ask an admin if you’re missing an item.
  • Opens in-place vs. new tab: Most icons open inside the Dashboard. The exceptions being: Open App and Help opens in a new tab/window.
  • Keyboard support: Use Tab/Shift+Tab to iterate over the items; Press Enter to interact.

FAQs

  1. Why don’t I see the Context icon?
Your tenant or role may not have the Context feature enabled. Contact your administrator.

  2. What is a Template?
A Template is a pre-designed structure you can reuse to create something new more quickly and consistently. It acts like a pattern or starting point. For Activites and Contexts it entails defining the different states, metadata and what data can be linked to what. In the case of Forms, this involves our very own custom made form Designer featuring a dynamic and flexible no-code editor, where you can create, design and style Forms however you like.

  3. Where are the admin controls?
Users manages people and roles; System Settings controls tenant-level settings like integrations and defaults. Access is limited to admins.

  4. How do I open the field app from the Dashboard?
Click Open App in the side bar. It opens in a new tab. Mobile apps support offline work with smart sync.

  5. Can I collapse the side bar?
On narrower screens it collapses to icons automatically. Hover shows tooltips; use Tab+Enter for keyboard navigation.
