4.11 Tab View and Card View

Tab View and Card View are the two layouts an activity can be opened in from the calendar in the Zegeba App. Both layouts show the same information and differ only in how it is arranged: Card View puts everything on one scrolling page, and Tab View splits it across four or five tabs.

The layout is changed in the Zegeba Dashboard settings and in the app. Card View is the default. Once the layout is changed, the setting stays until it is changed again.

Tab View

Tab View divides an opened activity into four or five tabs, depending on whether Extras is in use.

1. The first tab is Data Captures. This is where all forms and entries in the activity are located. For empty forms, you can click “Add” to start a new one, or use the orange “+” button in the top right corner. To view entries, click on each form, which opens a dropdown with all entries.
2. Next, we have Attachments. You can either add attachments using “Add First” (if no attachments have been added), or use the orange “+” in the top right corner.
3. In the third tab, we find Assignments. This is where we see a list of all users assigned to the selected activity.
4. Next, we have Extras. Not everyone uses Extras, and it will only be visible if it is in use. Extras can contain additional information, similar to metadata, but allows this information to be kept separate from the main metadata.
5. The last tab is Details. This is where we find the metadata. In Tab View, we can also see whether the metadata comes from the activity or the context.

Card View

Card View shows an opened activity on a single page. It shows limited information by default, but everything is reachable without leaving the page.

We start with an overview of the forms. Here, you can click on a form to see a list of entries from that specific form.
Below the list of forms, you’ll find Attachments. Use the plus icon on the right to add attachments.

Next, there’s an accordion labeled “Show details.” Clicking this will open a view of the metadata for the selected activity.

FAQs

Do I lose any information by using Card View?
No. Both layouts show the same information. Tab View arranges it across tabs and additionally shows whether each metadata field comes from the activity or from the context.

Where do I change the layout?
In the Zegeba Dashboard settings and in the app. Card View is the default, and once you change the layout the setting stays until you change it again, so it does not reset between sessions.

Why do I only see four tabs instead of five?
The Extras tab is only visible when Extras is in use. Not all systems use it.

Where are the entries in Tab View?
On the Data Captures tab. Click a form to open a dropdown listing all its entries. To start a new one, click Add on an empty form or the orange + in the top right corner.
