5.10 Recurring Activities

Recurring Activities is a simple way to set intervals for an activity so that it repeats at the defined interval.

This is enabled in the activity template under tab 6 (Scheduling). You can select “Allow activities to recur”, which allows you to define recurrence intervals for each individual activity.
You also have the option to set “Default recurring values” — this defines the default interval for all activities created from this template.

Default Recurring Activities
By checking off a default recurring activity in the activity template, a window will appear. In this window, there are four tabs:
1. Daily, 2. Weekly, 3. Monthly, and 4. Yearly.
In the selected tab, you can specify whether this is the default type, whether weekends should be skipped for the interval (some recurrences are based on the number of days between each activity), when the recurrence should end, and how long before and after the activity should be visible.

When an activity of this type is created, you still have the option to specify these settings. You enter the start date, and the activity will repeat at the interval you’ve chosen.

Allow activity to recur
If a default recurrence is not set, the interval can be specified when each activity is created from the selected template.
You then have the option to choose between: never, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, and custom.

Selecting Never means the activity will not repeat.
Daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly provide the same interval options as the default recurrence.
Custom allows you to specify exactly when each recurrence should occur. By clicking “Add date”, you set the visible from, due date, and visible to.
Click Add date multiple times to add several dates on which the activity should repeat.
