4.2.4 PDF tab
The panel Element Properties shows the editable properties of the element selected in the Elements panel.
The PDF tab is where you decide how the element should look on the PDF print-out of the form. For the main Form element you can set some general properties for the entire form, such as page margins. Properties that are only available for the main form element are discussed in Designing: 6.1 The main Form element. The picture below shows many of the properties available for various element types:
List of element properties
The following is a list of some of the element properties that can be adjusted. Only properties relevant for the element type you have selected in the Elements panel are shown in Element Properties.

Min height of captured multimedia on PDF
Type a number for the maximum width, either as pixels (“200px”) or percentages (“50%”).
If this does not work as intended you may create a grid with one row and no borders, place the multimedia element in one of the grid cells and vary the column width of the cells in the row until the multimedia element has the correct size and position on the page.

Hide on PDF
The element will not be printed on the PDF. The setting is often used for help text or drawings that are not needed in the resulting PDF report.
Hide Label text on PDF
The label will not be printed on the PDF, only the answer input from the user.
Hide Label multimedia on PDF
Any multimedia files entered in the Label multimedia property will not be printed on the PDF.
Hide unanswered questions in PDF
If the user has not entered data in this element, it will not be printed on the PDF.
Page break after element on PDF
Select this to always make a page break after this element.
Page break before element on PDF
Select this to always make a page break before this element.
For the File Attachment element only
Include in PDF (if file type of attachment is JPEG, JPG, PNG or PDF).
Note! Will only be included in PDFs generated automatically after data capture.
Any type of file may be attached by the user in the File Attachment element and uploaded to the server. In addition you can allow attachments in the form of images or PDFs to be appended at the back of the “normal” PDF report. As this file is added to the PDF after upload to the server, it will only appear in the PDFs sent automatically from the server as email notifications – not in the PDFs generated locally from the Dashboard, the Zegeba app or in the Designer’s Preview panel.
Do not split this element and subelements across multiple pages. Note! Excluded from PDF if larger than one page.
Use this setting if you want a grid table or a repeat listing to not be split across two pages. It will then move to the top of the next page. In Zegeba v 4.4 and earlier, if the grid or repeat listing spanned more than one page, this setting would make it not be printed at all. From Zegeba v 4.6, the grid or repeat listing will always be printed, even if it spans more than one page.
Tip: These PDF settings may be set with the Designer in both in regular and Minor Edit Mode. This means that you are allowed to change them after data has been captured. If you for instance see that the page breaks in the first PDF report are awkward, you may open the form in Designer and set your own element page breaks. Then you can print a new PDF report with the same data, but with better pagination.
Tip: If a Properties input field has “stretch marks” in its bottom right corner, you can drag this corner downwards to expand the field.
