List of element properties

The following is a list of some of the element properties that can be adjusted. Only properties relevant for the element type you have selected are shown in the Designer.

Note! Properties that are only available for the main form element are discussed in Designing: 6.1 The main Form element.

Rule

Rules handle e.g. showing/hiding of elements based on a calculated expression set in the main form element. This choice will only be shown in the Rules tab if a rule has been defined for this element.

You have to click on the main Form element at the very top of the Elements pane to start defining a Rule, but if an element has an assosiated Rule, it will show in this tab. You may click the Rule name here to open it in the editor.

Calculation

Here you can define a calculation resulting in the read-only answer of this element. It is normally used for Number and Decimal elements, but you may for instance use a calculation to make a Text Input element equal to the answer (numeric or text) in another element.

Validations

Validations are formulas that produce messages beside the input field stating something about the answer the user has given.

Find more information on this in Designing: 5.1 Rules (branching/skip formulas) and Designing: 5.2 Calculation and validation.
