Installation on customer servers

The Zegeba platform is continually enhanced and expanded based on the requirements and wishes of our customers. We issue new software upgrades every few months, and these are announced by mail directly to our customers and here in the Help Center, in the Release Notes section.

After the announcement, the new version is installed on all customer servers over the next weeks. For many customers the installation is done quite quickly, with just a few minutes of server downtime. Some larger customers, or those that have integration with other systems, need more specific arrangements. Their installations may be done late in the evening and require perhaps an hour of downtime. During this downtime users may still use their apps as before, but in offline mode
– without syncing.

Version numbering

Usually a new Zegeba version contains a limited amount of changes from the previous version, and the version number is changed from e.g. 4.4 to 4.5. At other times, the versions released to customers will skip several “notches”, such as go directly from 4.0 to 4.4. This is because the versions in between were “technical” releases not affecting you or containing any relevant changes for your setup. Version 3.29 was followed by version 4.0, as this version presented a major upgrade of the main architecture of the Zegeba platform.

Minor releases

In addition to these general releases, we sometimes issue minor releases labeled 4.6.1, 4.6.2, etc. These versions generally contain just one, or a few, specific improvements or bug fixes, and are not announced to the customers before installing on their servers.

How to find the number of your version

The server version is found in the bottom of the About screen in the Dashboard, shown in the top picture on this page. The Zegeba app is sometimes upgraded separately from the server version, so you may find a different number at the bottom of its sidebar, see picture above. The “native” version number also displayed in the app on devices is the number of the “backbone” of the phone/tablet app. This rarely changes, and is at present 1.6.0.
